My name is Manasa and I am a Postdoctoral researcher at Department of Human Ecology, Rutgers University. My focus is on climate mobilities and I am a member the NSF CoPe MACH project, which is a multi-institutional endeavor to design an adaptive decision framework for changing coastal hazards in NJ, NYC, and Philly. I have a Doctorate specializing in climate related migration from the Division of Global Affairs, Rutgers University. My dissertation, Off the map: Climate as a New Security Border, examined the security implications of climate migration, you can read more about it here. Previously, as a Climate Strategist with the B Team, I led global policy efforts on climate, just transition, and nature within UNFCCC, G20, and G7 frameworks.
